For me, I got into suits around in 6th grade. For some reason, I couldn't picture my friend in a tuxedo. It stumped me and I was curious to why I was thinking that. Then one night, we had formal presentation for this school project my division had and he dressed up in a tuxedo. After that experience, I began to find myself looking at dress shoes, suits, and tuxedos over that summer, especially when I got my own new pair of dress shoes. From that day forward, I have been interested in menswear formal attire ranging from suits and tuxedos to vintage wear and uniforms, etc.
