A few years ago, I co-wrote a few stories with the handsome, twisted, and dapper Thomas Stevenson. I enjoyed his talent for writing fast, raunchy, filthy sex scenes, and you can see all of that furious lustful energy in these stories. My influence was dialogue and description, character development—the softer stuff, I suppose.
I've been critiqued before for indulging in excessive descriptive detail in my writing. I accept this critique. However, I would counter that my motivation for writing about the eroticism of suits and ties is that I want to make you feel the garments. I want you to smell them, and fully imagine yourself enclothed in all that rich, indulgent luxury. I want you to feel like you're trying on a suit for the first time, that heady rush of power and libido.
If that makes me wordy, then so be it. Adjectives are silk, leather, wool. If you come out of one of my stories without those rich, erotic substances clinging to your nostrils, then I don't think I've quite done my job now have I?
